April 25, Ohanes: Traditional festivities in San Marcos

Like every year, in the last days of April, the people of Ohanes, celebrates the feast of its patron saint, San Marcos. This saint was characterized as a great lover and animal advocate, and these were, as the story goes, those who worshiped him when he was thrown into the arena of the Roman circus to be devoured by lions. For this reason it is believed that is the popular tradition of making and revere bulls bow down before the image of San Marcos.
